VMware plans to invest €23M and grow the local site in Sofia to over 1500 people, the Ministry of Economy reported. The focus of the new investment is in research and development of software products.
Established in 2007, VMware started in Sofia due to the large talent pool of software developers, quality engineers, technical writers, and product managers. It is the largest Research & Development site for the company in EMEA delivering cloud management and automation products.
The company is the biggest investor in the IT sector in the region, with more than €178M invested in the Bulgarian market.
