On February 27, for a 7th year in a raw, the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies (BAIT), presented its annual awards in 11 different categories, including two new categories – “Company with the largest contribution to the promotion of the image of the Bulgarian ICT industry in the world” and “Innovation Company in the Use of Advanced ICT Solutions”.
BAIT, the largest leading branch organization in the information and communication technology sector in Bulgaria, awarded the following companies for achievements in information and communication technologies for 2017:
- The Special Contribution Award was presented to Svetlin Nakov for the extensive educational activity of SoftUni for educating young people in IT technologies.
- The Educational Award for 2017 was won by “Your class”, an electronic platform, developed and implemented by the Ministry of Education and Science.
- An encouragement award in the Youth Award category was presented to the youngest participant – 10-year-old Sonia Genova. The winner of the main award was Ilian Kordev, a student at Technology School Electronic Systems (TUES), for the TRUSTY system (neTwork InTRUsion SYsTem), which he developed. The system detects security breaches of Linux-based devices.
- Petar Georgiev from BNT was the winner of the Journalist Award.
- Plovdiv is the winner in the State Administration category for the first regional institutional platform for enrollment and retention of children and pupils aged 5 -16 in the educational system.
- In the municipal administration category, the winner is again the municipality of Plovdiv for the implementation of a cloud platform, digitalizing the educational processes in schools.
- Best start-up of the year is Appzio – developers of an innovative platform that drastically shortens the time for developing mobile applications.
- The Best Bulgarian ICT Product Award was presented to Empire Online and the Kingdoms Online game, created specifically for gamers from the Arab world.
- The Significant Corporate ICT Project Award was won by BGO Media for the HARP web-based information system for data management and processes in medical research.
- Best innovative company in using advanced ICT solutions is Check Point Cardio – a complete real-time telemonitoring system for ECG and other vital human body indicators.
- The new BAIT Award, Company with the largest contribution to the promotion of the image of the Bulgarian ICT industry in the world, was presented to Datecs, which has been developing, manufacturing and selling fiscal devices around the world for 28 years.
