Bulgaria Investment Agency Awards Most Significant Investment Projects with the “Investor of the Year” Awards

The Bulgarian Investment Agency gave out its annual Investor of the Year Awards on February 27 in Sofia. More than 70 companies from all sectors participated in the competition.
The Awards were given for the 12th consecutive year in a total of 9 categories. The main criteria for determining the winners include the volume of the investment, the number of job openings, as well as the region where new production is started or an existing enterprise is expanded.
The companies with the most significant investment projects for 2017 are:
- Investor of 2017 is Lidl Bulgaria for the investment of BGN 80 million in the Kabile logistics center.
- The Investment in Expanding Business Award was presented to Rollplast Group.
- The Investing in Innovative Business Award was given to International Power Supply (IPS).
- French company Latecoere was the winner in the Green Investment category.
- German auto parts company WITTE Automotive Bulgaria won the Investment in Human Capital Award.
- Eurochem Agro Bulgaria and Mundus Services received awards in the Merger / Acquisitions category.
- Best Successful Start-up for 2017 is Shkolo
- The municipality with the largest investments in Bulgaria for 2017 is the municipality of Shumen.
- The Social Investment Award was given to Vivacom.
