Invest Sofia with an Information Booth at the Career Forum “Bulgaria Across Five Oceans”

A joint initiative between Invest Sofia and Lions of Bulgaria to support entrepreneurs was presented: We are looking for innovators – the “builders” and the “brave ones” who are ready to create companies with real potential

Invest Sofia took part with an information booth at the career forum “Bulgaria Across Five Oceans”, held on June 14 at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia. The event is a new-generation career forum organized by the platform “Bulgaria Wants You.”

The forum offers a new scale, updated concept, and meaningful content, designed to benefit both individuals seeking career opportunities in Bulgaria and abroad, as well as businesses looking for talent and future prospects.

At the Invest Sofia booth, visitors learned about the agency’s wide range of programs and services for professional development, business investment, and innovation. Information was provided on funding opportunities for startups, mentoring programs, and collaboration with universities. Special attention was given to initiatives aimed at attracting Bulgarian talent back to the country, along with success stories of previous program participants.

Mr. Hristo Popov, serial entrepreneur and strategic consultant, presented a joint initiative by Invest Sofia and Lions of Bulgaria aimed at supporting entrepreneurs. The focus is on identifying a small but talented group of innovators – the “builders” and the “brave ones” – who are ready to create companies with real potential. The program offers world-class training and supports participants in competing successfully on international markets. The goal is for the selected companies to be among the top 100 elite in Bulgaria within five years, but participation requires active initiative and commitment from the candidates.

In 2025, “Bulgaria Across Five Oceans” returns with a refreshed vision, expanded concept, and larger scale. This edition brought together 4,000 Bulgarians with professional achievements in Bulgaria and abroad, along with representatives from business, institutions, and the nonprofit sector. The event was held across two main stages – “Successes and Lessons” and “Leaders of Change.” The “Leaders of Change” stage featured best practices in innovation, investment, professional development, education, and regional progress through engaging lectures and panel discussions.

The space was designed for networking, individual meetings with employers, consultations, and interactive experiences.

The “Bulgaria Wants You” platform, founded by Andrey Arnaudov and Ivan Hristov, aims to promote the return, retention, and professional realization of Bulgarian talent within the country. Through its activities, including numerous events in Bulgaria and abroad, the organization promotes Bulgaria as an attractive place to live, work, and invest, in partnership with businesses, institutions, and organizations.

Thanks to these forums, many people have found employment, many have returned to Bulgaria, and others have decided not to leave, choosing instead to stay in their homeland.

The next event this year will take place on June 19 in Paris, where Invest Sofia will once again participate with its own booth.
