“Technologies and innovations in human resources” was the topic of the special event of the initiative of Invest Sofia – Sofia Investment Support (Sofia IS). Many partners from the initiative of the Agency to support investors in the capital joined the discussion. The main panelists at the event were Dr. Zornitsa Yordanova PhD. – General Manager of Intertaxer and the Executive Director of Adecco Bulgaria, Nadezhda Vasileva. Among the topics discussed were: Digitization as part of current and future processes in the HR sector. How can companies make the right transition from paper to innovation? How important is the participation of the human factor in the management and the selection of personnel for the fulfillment of the goals of a given company. Nadezhda Vasileva talked about the personal experience of Adecco Bulgaria i]n this direction and gave useful models for solving specific cases. Automation and artificial intelligence can help find and attract talent, their retention and growth, said Dr. Yordanova PhD.
The event is part of the series of forums that Invest Sofia organizes through the Sofia IS program. “Our goal is to be as useful as possible with knowledge, experience and shared resources to all the companies that are part of the initiative and to attract new ones,” emphasized the CEO of Invest Sofia Dr. Maria Hristova PhD., during the discussion. Invest Sofia participates in one of the largest drone exhibitions in Europe. The chief expert from the “Investment Analysis” department, Dr. Ludmil Ivanov PhD., joined the tenth edition of the international exhibition DronItaly in Bologna, where innovative products that will enter the European and world market in the coming years were presented. During the exhibition, there were public lectures on topics such as “Innovative Air Mobility – National and International Development Scenarios” and “Major Investments and Available Funding in the Drone Sector”.
The fifth edition of the international conference “Financial and investment support for small and medium-sized enterprises – Sofia International Money Expo” takes place on October 8 and 9 and is organized by the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA) and the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) in partnership with Sofia Municipality and Invest Sofia. The motto of the event is “Sofia – Regional Financial Hub”, and its purpose is to provide SME representatives with useful information about business development opportunities through the use of various financial and investment instruments. Different financing institutions, investment and guarantee funds and investors will present their products within the conference to support enterprises.
The event will provide the opportunity for business representatives to talk and have bilateral meetings with financial institutions. The main topics in the conference program are “European programs for financing SMEs”, “Programs for European cross-border cooperation”, “Equity investment to support business growth” and others. The CEO of Invest Sofia, Dr. Maria Hristova PhD., took part in the panel discussion “Foreign direct investments – benefit for the business and incentive for the economy”.
Nearly 100 students from the Technological school “Electronic Systems” attended the drone football demonstrations, organized by the “United Drone Community Association” with the support of Invest Sofia.
The event, which is part of the Inter Drone Expo, gave the students a close-up look at how the futuristic sport is played, which can help acquire skills such as 3D designing, assembling and piloting drones, as well as basic knowledge of aerodynamics, flight safety , flight mode programming, radio signals and telecommunications.
The Technological School “Electronic Systems” is an educational institution part of the Technical University and prepares students with secondary education in the field of computer science and information technology. The students’ visit to the Inter Drone Expo was organized by Invest Sofia.
The futuristic sport is presented as part of the Inter Drone Expo event, which is taking place from October 1st to 4th at the Inter Expo Center. The unique event for our country is part of the DroneBALL Arena project, created and managed by the “United Drone Community Association” and with the support of Invest Sofia. The drone soccer is a fast-growing futuristic team aerial sport that involves two teams of up to five players (pilots) whose goal is to score the most goals against the opponent.

Invest Sofia is part of the leading conference for start-up companies and technologies in Eastern Europe – How to Web. The event takes place on October 2nd and 3rd in Bucharest and features over 100 speakers from the global tech industry, over 200 leading European investors and representatives from over 500 startups.

The winners of the sixth edition of the leading awards for the best employer in Bulgaria – Career Show Awards are announced. DRONE EXPO SUMMIT meets us with the future of drones and robots. The forum is organized by the “United Drone Community Association” and Inter Expo Center with the support of Invest Sofia and is part of the 4-day event “Inter Drone Expo”. The main purpose of the event is to spark dialogue and cooperation between various stakeholders, from drone manufacturers to users, legislators and safety experts. The main panels of the forum are “Drone Safety and Cybersecurity”, “Drone Projects in Defense”, “Drones and Robots in Disasters and Accidents” and “Drone Education in Schools”, in which the CEO of Invest Sofia Dr. Maria Hristova PhD. took part. The event provides an opportunity to build a sustainable drone ecosystem to promote best practices and innovations. During the “Inter Drone Expo”, visitors will also be able to learn more about the activities of Invest Sofia at the Agency’s special stand, which is located in Hall 5 of the Inter Expo Center.

The event, which is called Bits Founders Festival, takes place in Munich and starts on 29 September. It brings together experts and companies that are redefining the global technology industry. In the Bits Founders Festival 2024 Invest Sofia is represented by Nikolay Petkov, Chief Expert in the Investment Analysis Department. Our participation is in partnership with the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency. During the conference, the activities of Invest Sofia are presented at the institutional stand of Bulgaria as part of the organizations that represent the development of the Bulgarian startup ecosystem and the positioning of our country as a regional technology hub in the Balkans.
The Bilateral Chamber of Commerce Bulgaria – Romania (BCCBR) celebrated 12 years since its establishment. The celebration took place in the Embassy of Romania in Sofia and Viktor Goussev – head of the “Investment Analysis” department at Invest Sofia, was a guest at the event.
BCCBR is an independent, non-governmental organization that aims to support the Bulgarian and Romanian business communities and to stimulate the industry and commercial exchange between the two countries. Nearly 60 companies are members of the organization, with a total of over 15,000 employees. The leading conference in the field of drones will gather experts, innovators, professionals and enthusiasts on October 1 at the Inter Expo Center. It is part of the 4-day event Inter Drone Expo, which will continue until October 4. The program includes four discussion panels, where the application of drones in the field of education, defense and protection of the population in the event of disasters and accidents will be discussed, as well as the topic “Drone safety and cyber security”. The event includes a demonstration of drone football which will be presented for the first time in Bulgaria. The innovative sport combines technology with elements of traditional football, with players controlling “drone-balls” by remote control, which must be driven into the opponent’s “goal”. Leading experts, representatives of the European institutions, local authorities and business leaders from Bulgaria, Greece, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Hungary are discussing the possibilities for economic development of the coal mining areas in Sofia at the International Forum on Economic Transformation of Coal Regions “Just Transition Opportunities Across Borders”.

The event is part of the “Transition of Opportunities” project,which aims to promote the contribution of the European Union’s Cohesion Policy, the Just Transition Fund and the European Recovery Plan to ensure a smooth and fair transition to a climate neutral economy.
