For another year in a row, the most deserving startups and people in Bulgaria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem were awarded in the national round of the Central European \u0405tartur Award 2020 (\u0421\u0415\u0405\u0410w\u0430rd\u0455). The startup of the year award went to the information security company L\u043eg\u0405\u0435nt\u0456n\u0435l.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year \u0421\u0415\u0405\u0410w\u0430rd\u0455 Bulgaria was held in an entirely online format, organized by the Bulgarian Startup Association – \u0412\u0415\u0405\u0421\u041e. The European Investment Bank (EIB) was a general partner of the awards, and The Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), the Fund of Funds, \u0405\u0456t\u0435gr\u043eund, \u0412r\u0456ght\u0421\u0430\u0440 V\u0435ntur\u0435\u0455, \u0420ubG\u0430l\u0430\u0445\u0443, \u0420h\u043en\u0435\u0410r\u0435n\u0430, \u0405\u041c\u0405 \u0412um\u0440 (\u0430 Y\u043et\u0440\u043e \u0441\u043em\u0440\u0430n\u0443) and \u0421\u043eh\u043en\u0435\u0455 \u0412r\u0435w\u0435r\u0443 were partner organizations. The winners in the national round were decided by a comprehensive assessment of the jury’s votes in the competition and the votes of the audience after an open vote on the competition website.<\/span><\/p>\n

Not only the winners in the ten categories of CESAwards 2020, but all 42 Bulgarian finalists will take part in the \u0421\u0415\u0405\u0410w\u0430rd\u0455 regional competition on 10 December. The international ceremony will honor the most successful startups and people in Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Romania, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

The winners<\/strong><\/p>\n

Startup of the Year<\/span><\/i> is\u00a0 L\u043eg\u0405\u0435nt\u0456n\u0435l – a company for information security on large data sets, using technologies such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Newcomer <\/span><\/i>(for companies with up to two-year history) – the starting Meteo.Rock\u0455, which develops a network of autonomous and solar-powered meteorological stations for data in real-time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best FinTech Startup<\/span><\/i> – \u0420h\u0443r\u0435 – a mobile application for orders from traders worldwide, money transfer services, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Founder of the Year<\/span><\/i> – Sabina Gyosheva – co-founder of \u0412Y F\u0410R\u00a0 – a brand for high-quality ladies’ shoes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Investor of the Year<\/span><\/i> for the third consecutive year is the Bulgarian venture capital fund L\u0410UN\u0421\u041dub V\u0435ntur\u0435\u0455.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Co-working Space<\/span><\/i> – \u0421\u0430m\u0440u\u0455 \u0425.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Social Impact Startup<\/span><\/i> – \u0420r\u043e\u0455f\u0456t \u0422\u0435\u0441hn\u043el\u043eg\u0456\u0435\u0455. The company manufactures prostheses using new technology and supports the integration of people who have undergone amputation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best Accelerator\/Incubator Program <\/span><\/i>for the second consecutive year is Endeavor’s D\u0430r\u0435 \u0422\u043e \u0405\u0441\u0430l\u0435.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, in the two new categories \u2013 <\/span>Best Virtual Teamwork Solution<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Ecosystem Hero of the Year<\/span><\/i> – were awarded: D\u0456g\u0456t\u0430l\u041a\u0456dz, who improve the digital competences of teachers, students, and parents, and Vassil Terziev – investor, co-founder of \u0421\u0430m\u0440u\u0455 \u0425 and the Telerik Academy, and managing partner in Eleven’s venture capital fund.<\/span><\/p>\n
