The 10<\/span>th<\/span> free charging station for electric cars is already available in Sofia. The 7.5 kilowatt station is located at the corner of Moskovska Str. and August 11 Str. At the opening of the station, Deputy Mayor Doncho Barbalov announced that Sofia Municipality is preparing a procedure for another 25 locations for charging stations for electric vehicles.<\/span><\/p>\n The new station is a joint initiative of the Green Systems and Transport Directorates and with the support of KIA Motors Bulgaria and aims to promote the city\u2019s electric mobility as an environmentally friendly and safe transport for less dust and noise pollution of the urban environment.<\/span><\/p>\n According to the latest data there are 350 electric cars in the capital and the newly registered electric cars for half a year are about 100, which is a 40% increase compared to last year.<\/span><\/p>\n Sofia Municipality reminded that electric cars in Sofia can park in blue and green parking zones free of charge.<\/span><\/p>\n ***<\/span><\/p>\n A total of 22 natural gas buses will carry passengers along the public transport lines, Sofia Municipality announced. By the end of May 22 new trams will be operational on the streets of Sofia.<\/span><\/p>\n Furthermore, metro trains tests start on the new metro line. Given good test results, the first section of the third metro line of Sofia metro will be put into operation as of the autumn.<\/span><\/p>\n ***<\/span><\/p>\n Hotel chain Orbis Hotel Group will open a new hotel in Sofia in 2021. The move is part of the group\u2019s network expansion in Bulgaria.<\/span><\/p>\n The new hotel will be called ibis Styles Sofia City. It will have 116 rooms and will offer a unique combination of modern concept, modern technology and the best international practices in the hotel business.<\/span><\/p>\n Ibis Styles Sofia City will be located on Tsarigradsko shosse Blvd, close to Sofia Tech Park, The Mall, Sofia Airport and a few minutes from the city center. In addition to the hotel, the building will also offer office space and a conference area for events with a capacity of more than 300 people.<\/span><\/p>\n Ibis Styles is a world-famous hotel brand of Orbis Hotel Group, which has another two hotels in Sofia – Novotel Sofia and ibis Sofia.<\/span><\/p>\n ***<\/b><\/p>\n The spring afforestation season for Sofia commenced with the planting of more trees in the New Forest – one of the largest projects that Sofia Municipality has implemented for the third consecutive year. The green zone currently comprises 28 800 trees that are already building the future green filter near Sofia on an uncultivated municipal plot near Suhodol district, transformed into a woodland. For the implementation of the project, the municipality provides the saplings\/ acacia and oak, landscaping equipment and gloves. The planting of the trees is done entirely by volunteers – citizens of Sofia and the region.<\/span><\/p>\n Sofia Municipality has also announced the opening of a special bus line within the public transport with number 56A. The bus runs in a half-hour intervals between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. It departs from Vardar Metro Station and has its last stop at the <\/span>New Forest of Sofia<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n In the center of Sofia, new trees were planted on Shishman Street behind the temple of Sveti Sedmochislenitsi Church and in the city parks and gardens of Sofia enjoy colorful figures of tulips, violets, as well as decorative sakura (Japanese cherry blossoms), the wisteria and apple trees.<\/span><\/p>\n After 5 months of wintering, the fountain in the middle of the lake in Druzhba district is put into operation again. The fountain has decorative lighting, but also plays an important role in the pond\u2019s biodiversity. The aerator in the facility injects oxygen into the water, improving the fish’s living conditions while reducing the development of algae.<\/span><\/p>\n ***<\/span><\/p>\n Austria-based low-cost airline Laudamotion will offer flights between Sofia and Vienna five times a week as of October 28. The carrier has already started selling tickets for its first flights.<\/span><\/p>\n Laudamotion is part of the Irish Ryanair, which has expanded its routes from Sofia as of April this year by adding Sofia-Kiev-Sofia flights twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.<\/span><\/p>\n Another low-cost company plans routes from Sofia Airport. German Eurowings will carry passengers from Sofia to Dusseldorf and Stuttgart.
